The Forces of Nature

Questions of the Day:

How does something so small.....contain so much energy?

....and then just crash?

And why can't I, when I wake up at midnight...2:00am....4:00am...and 6:00am for puppy duty?

Aloha!

1. HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR FIANCE? At work. I know...I know...

2. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DATE? Well....I kept putting him off because I didn't want to mix "business" with "pleasure". In the end....I'm so glad I did!

3. HOW LONG DID YOU DATE BEFORE YOU GOT ENGAGED? 6 months or so. Surprising since I've always been a "long-term relationship" gal...but never seriously considered (or wanted) marriage. Mr. Thompson changed that right away.

4. HOW DID YOUR FIANCE PROPOSE? On a bench..under a sweet little tree...next to the Salt Lake Temple. Made me promise that we would make it forever.

5. WHAT JOBS DID YOU TWO HAVE WHILE YOU WERE ENGAGED? We were both managers at the Red Cross...and kept it under wraps all the way until the wedding! One of my biggest accomplishments!

6. HOW LONG WERE YOU ENGAGED? 4 months

7. HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU GOT MARRIED? 33

8. WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED? February 15th, 2007

9. WHAT WERE YOUR COLORS? all of these tropical, beautiful colors and flowers.

10. HOW MANY BRIDESMAIDS DID YOU HAVE? One - my sister

11. WHO WAS YOUR MAID OF HONOR? One - my sister

12. WHERE WAS THE CEREMONY? The beach...at sunset...in Hawaii

13. DID YOU HAVE A DJ OR A BAND? a radio...so we could dance to our song...barefoot...on the beach...at sunset. Great moment!

14. DID YOU HAVE A SONG YOU DANCED TO AND WHAT WAS IT? "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. Also danced to "Moon River" with my dad...another dream come true.

15. DID ANYTHING GO WRONG AT THE WEDDING OR RECEPTION? Other than my sister slipping on a rock and falling into the ocean...and then laughing so hard she peed herself...nothing. It was perfect.

16. WHAT CAR DID YOU LEAVE IN AND WHAT DID IT LOOK LIKE? A rental. I have no idea what it looked like beyond the sunroof and a rainbow license plate

17. WHERE DID YOU GO FOR YOUR HONEYMOON? 2 weeks...in Hawaii

18. WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? my mother calling....repeatedly...and insistently...on my wedding night...at the wrong moment. I thought they got in an accident...which in my mind would be the only reason why a person would call from one phone...to the next......and back and forth...so many times...on someones wedding night! Not the case, she forgot her necklace.

19. WOULD YOU HAVE CHANGED ANYTHING IF YOU COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN? Not a thing. Well...one thing. But we're on our way to that.

20. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MARRIED? 2 years going on eternity.

Les Miserables

Today is a bad day, my people.

The ex-wife told Lil' A that she got a puppy for Valentines Day.

Where, pray tell, do you think she got this information since we haven't seen Lil' A yet?

Yep, you guessed it....my blog.

Wicked woman.

Part of me wants to unload on her and then say "neener-neener" we're so happy and while your so not...but the more christian part remembers the good advice Razy gave me in a comment on an earlier post which said something about praying for her and not letting her poison spread.

I guess I better get on my knees.

So...you all know what this means since I refuse to allow something I like (my blog) to be used against the person I love the most (Mr. Thompson):

Either the blog has to change web addresses to a non-traceable/nondescript blogspot address (that doesn't include my name)...OR...the blog has to go (and stay) private this time which means you have to log-in each time - a horrible inconvenience.

I'm not sure who is reading so I don't know which is the better option.

Decisions - decisions - decisions.

What do you think?

(Go ahead and comment... I double-dog dare you!)

Viva la Vegas!

We came.

We saw.

We conquered.

What happens in Vegas....stays in Vegas!

Happy anniversary Mr. Thompson. Thanks for two blissful years. Here's to an eternity more...

Simply Irresistible!

How, pray tell....does one resist this?

One simply doesn't

Which is why Mr. Thompson and I just went to "look at"... but ended up saying "yes, we'll take her!" to Mia's blood sister Meka yesterday.

Two words: spunky and adorable.

Happy Valentine's Day to Lil' A. She's going to die...

Keeping Up With The Jones's...

Crap. Valentine's Day is 7 days away. My anniversary is 8 days away...

Double crap.

What am I going to get Mr. Thompson?!

Oh, that's right...he saw Noelle's blog. The one in which she announced that The Dentist bought her a gun for Valentine's Day. Now Mr. Thompson is jealous...

and thinks he needs one too!

Triple crap.

Thanks Noelle...

What A Boob!

I only remember really crying three times when I was young (under the age of 18).

Three times.

No joke.

1. When my parent's wouldn't let me go waterskiing with my friends because I was a naughty brat and didn't clean my room. (That's when I was 18....)

2. Watching Go Towards The Light...which remains the saddest movie I've ever seen. (a true story about one of the first children to contract and die from AIDS. A truely heartbreaking story because people were really mean in the 80's...and you know how I feel about that. Mean People Suck!)

3. One word: Charley.

If you've read it, you know what I'm talking about. Jack Weyland at his best.

I read it again this weekend and I swear I boobed as hard reading it for the 20th time at age 34...than I did when I read it for the first time at 12.

Bawled like a freakin' baby. With all the terrible sounds, snot, puffy red eyes and hyperventalation. You see, we Wilson's do not cry pretty. Mr. Thompson thought I was having a break-down and rushed upstairs until he realized that I was reading a book. He left the room in disgust.

Isn't that something Sam would have done?

Memorial Monday

So...yesterday I had a really good day. It was actually very spiritual because I read the Ensign article about service and then followed it up with some scripture study in which everything on the pages just stood out and made sense.

Those thoughts continued today...when I had the strongest impressions on putting service into action while reading my blogger friend Katie's (Taking The Statistical Bullet) Memorial Monday post.

Memorial Monday is something I look forward to every week in a therapeutic sort of way. It's nice to have a network of people who somewhat understand what I've gone through. Today however, it was written by Laura, a woman who has experienced more than her fair share of heartbreak. (click on the red Memorial Monday title above to be linked to her post).

It not only made me realize how much I have to be grateful for...a caring husband...a loving network of family and friends...a sweet angel to love...and a whole lot of hope in my future. More importantly, as I read Laura's post I realized how much we really need each other.

While I don't know Laura... I wish that I did. If so, I would wrap my arms around her and put the gospel into action.

There are a lot of people named "Laura" out there and if we don't have each other, what do we have? Nothing, so we owe it to each other to care.

How's that for a healthy dose of reality and perspective?

(See what happens when you read your scriptures?!)
